Smithy Core is the free foundation of the Smithy Factory suite for Breakdance. It adds seven extra elements, a per-breakpoint on-scroll animation system, and the shared “Smithy Factory” admin menu that every other Smithy plugin attaches its own settings to.

Elements

Seven elements are available in the Breakdance builder once Core is active:

Per-breakpoint scroll animation

Core adds its own scroll-animation panel to every element in the builder, with settings that can differ per breakpoint — a peer to Breakdance’s own built-in “Scrolling Animation” panel, not a replacement for it.

Don’t enable Breakdance’s built-in Scrolling Animation and Core’s scroll animation on the same element — they’ll conflict, since both drive the same element with their own animation timeline.

Admin and licensing

Core creates the Smithy Factory menu in wp-admin, with License as its one screen — this is the same menu every other Smithy plugin’s settings attach themselves to, so it’s worth installing Core first even if you only need one other plugin.

Requirements

WordPress 6.4+, PHP 8.2+, and Breakdance. Core is free and doesn’t require a licence itself — the License screen is there for the other Smithy plugins that do.
